Lavery’s Staff Knows the Importance of Giving Back

Known for the longevity of its staff, many of Lavery Automotive’s 70 employees have been working there since the early 1980’s. “For many employees it became their first job at a young age and progressed into a career and a family.” To give their staff a much needed break and to allow time for family and rejuvenation, the dealership is not open Sundays. They believe this is important, especially to allow time to give back to the community.

Lavery Automotive “Makes Alliance Theirs” by always looking for new ways to give back. They gave over $245,000 to the Alliance community since 2012! They believe it is an honor to invest in the local community where they work and live.

One of their efforts was a Facebook “Likes” campaign for Alliance Make it Yours that raised over $1,200 for the local YMCA! Lavery is also a proud supporter of Chevy Youth Soccer, which brings equipment, sponsorship checks, fundraising opportunities and more to youth teams. They also support the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer® walks and participated in the “I Drive For” social media fundraising campaign, in addition to many other community volunteer opportunities throughout the year.

Family-Owned Since 1965

Lavery Automotive has been serving the Alliance area for over 50 years. The dealership sells new General Motors vehicles and a variety of pre-owned vehicles, plus features a full GM certified Service Department, Collision and Body Shop, Parts Department and Car and Van Rental Department.

Before opening the dealership, Tom Lavery came from humble beginnings in Brooklyn NY, was a member of the Army, an Ohio University graduate and an employee of General Motors for 17 years. Tom opened his business in Alliance because he saw not only a thriving business climate, but a supportive community with strong ties. Currently, the dealership is run by Tom Lavery’s son, Bill.
